Britain is amongst the 25 nations represented at a conference here at. which a convention for abolishing import and export restrictions imposed as the result of the war and post-war conditions has been signed. The pact becomes effective bn January 1, but the signatories are not bound to remove all restrictions until July. Countries may withdraw if those whose participation they regard as essential do not join. Britain, the United States and six others have signified their unconditional willingness to remove all restrictions, which must not be confused with tariffs, hut. restrictions.
