CONTROVERSY OVER HOTEL
JUDGMENT OF ARBITRATOR. Bj Telegraph—Press Association Wellington, Dec, 19%. Mr. Justice McGregor to-day entered judgment in terms of the award of the arbitrator in the case of Frederick Henry Rennie against Margaret Diamond, of Napier, in respect to the Central Hotel, which Rennie managed for a time. Rennie claimed £745 wages, money paid out on behalf of defendant, and other sums for which he had made himself responsible, and defendant counter-claimed for £5OO for alleged failure to keep proper books. She also claimed accounts. His Honour at the hearing ordered the questions at issue, excluding the claim for £5OO damages, to be tried before an arbitrator. The award gave plaintiff £699 8s and defendant £6O 6s 7d on her claim for accounts. His Honoxu’ dismissed the claim foxdamages, and ordered defendant to pay the arbitrator’s fee and plaintiff’s costs, witnesses’ expenses and disbursements.
