BOXING IN TARANAKI
DONOVAN-CROWLE CONTEST. At a meeting of the Taranaki Boxing Association final arrangements ' were made in connection with the CrowleDonovan bout to-morrow night. It was reported that the two contestants were in great condition, and that each was confident of success. Members of the committee who had seen Crowle in action were impressed with the Australian lad’s action and speed. DonoAm’s eye is now right again, and he has been training solidly. It was "decided to "present _tbe trophies to the amateurs prior to the professional contest. - • Advice has been received that the following amateurs have been in active training for. the preliminaries:—W. Brosnan v. N. Doni broski; H. Furze v. B. Goodwin; McGregor (Waitara) v. D. Hutchens; J. Kavanagh v. 8. Brereton; J. Moffitt v. J. Paterson. Mr. A. Maxwell will be referee. A letter was received from the Hawera Boxing Association, asking whether Crowle would be available to box there on January 25. Owing to several tentative bouts it was decided to defer the matter until Thursday evening, when members of the Haxvera association will be present. THhere were present Messrs. Jas. Garcia (chairman), V. 8, Pruden, W. Searle. T. Campbell, J.,Horlor, T. Campbell, A. Faldie, W. N. Stephenson, W. Rockick and E. J. Carr (hon. secretary).
