BIG GAME FISHING BEGINS

MAKO SHARK AT MERCURY BAY. By TedeKtaph.—Pre-33 Association. Thames, Dec. 16. The big game fishing season has opened with a swing at Mercury Bay, there being a large run of both mako sharks and “swordfish coming jn yesterday. Mr. John Mead brought in two mako _of 350 and 3301 b respectively, these being caught outside Mercury Island, where Mr. Zane Grey was fishing , last year. Present, indications are for a tremendous run of fish.
