COOKERY AND PRODUCE CLASSES.
EXHIBITION CONTINUES TO-DAY.
The Frankleigh Park summer show was opened yesterday afternoon in the hall and will be continued to-day. The wet weather in the afternoon made things unpleasant outside, but inside everything was cosy and cheerful and the choice flowers made the hall the happiest place in which to pass the afternoon.
Besides the flower classes there were classes for vegetables and cookery which attracted large entries, and drawing classes for children. In the cooking section the points prize was won by Mrs. W.'F. Bishop. The ladies’ committees in charge of .the produce stall and the Christmas tree for children are:—Produce stall, (Mesdames Newton Allen and Booker; Christmas tree, Mesdamcs W. Bendall and A. C. Bendall; afternoon tea, Mesdames E. Beale, W. F.* Bishop, A. Williams and J. W. Spindler. Judges and stewards were:—Pot, plants and flowers: Judge, Mr. J. W. Hodges; stewards, Messrs J. H. Frethey and J. Williams. Decorative section: Judges, Mesdames Morrison and Alexander; stewards, Mesdames Newton Allen and. T. Paton. Vegetables: Judge, Mr. R. Dunn; stewards, Messrs J. H. Frethey and J. Williams. Cooking: Judge: Mr. A. F. Aldie; steward, Mr. Mitchell. Drawing: Judge, Mr. W. A. Ballantyne; stewards, Messrs J. H. Frethey and J. Williams. The secretaries responsible for the excellent organisation of the show were Messrs J. W. Spindler and A. E. Paris. The proceeds are in aid of the hall funds. Results are; — POT PLANTS.
