Bandits attacked the Orient express, bound from Constantinople to Paris, between the Serbian frontier station and Tsaribred. They killed two passengers, wounded others and plundered the train. Only the bullet-riddled engine arrived at Tsaribred. The Bulgarian Government has closed the frontier and mobilised troops to pursue the bandits, who are believed to be the notorious Ouzenoff band.
