DEATH AFTER OPERATION
INQUEST ON DUNEDIN WOMAN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . . Dunedin,, Nov. 21. An inquest was opened to-day on Jennie Edwards, aged 30, who died suddenly in hospital on Tuesday. Norman Flavell Hayward, theatre manager, Wanganui, stated that he was Miss Edwards’ first cousin. Prior to going to Wanganui in September he was. manager of Everybody’s Theatre, Dunedin. Miss Edwards had been the pianist in that theatre. At the hospital on Tuesday evening she told him she underwent an illegal operation. When witness left Dunedin she told him she had reason to believe she might be pregnant. He regarded her as a sinter, and thought it was for that/ reason she confided in him. He had advised her to see a doctor in order to find out what the trouble was. She did not tell him who was responsible for her condition. There was no suggestion that he had had any relations with her. The inquest was adjourned for a postmortem examination. ' .
