INQUIRY INTO LAWYER'S VERSION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister of Justice (the Hon. T. M. Wilford) is not in a position to reply fully to the statements made in connection with the Elsie Walker mystery by Mr. 0. Cooney, Te Puke, solicitor* for Mrs. Margaret Thomason. . Replying to an inquiry, the Minister said he had forwarded to the Commissioner of Police the statement made last week by Mr. Cooney and had asked for a reply to it as to certain excerpts from the file since those extracts had. been supplied by the police typed and ready for Insertion, in the statement Mr. Wilford made to the House. “As soon as I receive the. police comment on Mr. Cooney’s statement as to those extracts .1. shall, be glad to give it to the ITefisi’V the. Minister added.
