NORTH TARANAKI CRICKET
MATCHES WITH COUNTRY TEAMS. The management committee of th©.. North Taranaki Cricket Division last -. evening received a letter from the Country: Association accepting the invitation from the division to play a match at Pukekura Park on November 30 and suggesting that a second town team play a second country team on the same date at Tikorangi, play to begin at 10.39 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. It was considered very unlikely that a second town eleven of any strength could be sent out as the players would be unable to have the morning free from work. The executive decided to write to th© Country Association suggesting that th©. High School first eleven be substituted for a second town eleven for the match at-Tikorangi. Mr. N. Gibson considered the High School eleven would be an excellent substitute. It was pointed out that this arrangement would automatically cut out the proposed match 'between two town teains on November 30 at th© school ground. - ■ • The contract between, the division and the Western park Board for the use of Western Park during the present season was confirmed. It was decided to write to the Western Park senior B team expressing the executive’s appreciation of the team’s action in keeping the fixture with ftvisiting team when the weather had caused all the other fixtures to be postponed. • No alteration, it was decided, could be made in the allotment of one point to each team for the matches begun and abandoned on November 9. It- was decided to hold over the senior fixture New Plymouth v. High School until some suitable date later in th© season. The senior grade fixtures for next Saturday are: Western Park v. High Schoo], at High School; Old Boys A,. New Plymouth, at Pukekura Park.
