Kingcraft, the favourite, stood on the mark and lost, nearly 100 yards before he went off? He caught the field at the mile and a-quarter but the effort told and only for a moment did he look dangerous. Logan Park took the lead early ?nd was setting a fairly slow pace until ’adlock, who began quickly, challenged ind speeded up the field. Logan Park led into the straight, where Peter Bingen piade his run, caught the leader and passed him in a brilliant burst and ran home a safe winner by two lengths, pundas Boy, who ran a good race, was jjhird five lengths away, and Imprint was, a length further back, with Kohara fifth. Times, 4min 18 4-ssec, 4min 22sec, 4min 23 4-ssec.

At a meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association the following motion was carried: “That it be a recommendation to handicappers that wherever possible the practice of placing horses on the six yards mark be discontinued owing to the possibility of serious accidents.”
