COURAGE OF ST. CLAIR YOUTHS. By Tdegrapli.—Press Assoclatloh. Dunedin, November 14. A young nurse, Miss Calder, had w narrow escape from droAvning while swimming on the St. Clair beach 100 yards out. She was seen to throw her arms up, signalling for help. Richard Coxon swam out and held the young • Avoman, but could make no headway against the -undertow.. • _ '/ Evan Turnbull sAvam to his assistance with a life-line against the strong current, and the three were dragged ashore exhausted. Miss Calder, on recovering, said she would have been drowned but for the youths’ promptness and courage.
