. CROQUET CLUB’S OPENING. (From Our Own Correspondent-) The official opening of the Inglewood croquet greens, which had to be postponed twice owing to the weather, was held on Monday afternoon when there was a very large attendance. In declaring the greens open for the season the president, Mrs. J. W. Winfield, expressed pleasure at the presence of so many players and extended a cordial welcome do a number of new members.

Mrs- Winfield was handed a bouquet by little Marjorie Tait. Afternoon tea was served.

Following are the results of the competitions: —Circle, Mrs. Somerton; ladder, Mrs. Grant; golf croquet, Mrs. Mcßae. The greens are in very good order. The ordinary monthly golf croquet will start on Thursday for an aggregate trophy at the conclusion of the season. Handicao doubles are to be played during the season for a rose bowl.

The weekly euchre party was held in the band-room on Monday evening, when 13 tables were occupied. The results were: Ladies, Mrs. W. Julian 1, Mrs. F. Gyde 2; men, Mr. Drosdowski 1, Mr. J. Julian 2. Consolation prizes were won by Mrs. P. and Mr. K. Burrows.

The following rinks have been selected to represent the Inglewood Bowling Club in the match against Stratford at Inglewood to-morrow: —A. Drake, D- Allen, H. Codd, H. Cottier (s) ; G. Raynor, P. Bishop, E. Spurdie, W. Henry (s); W. Martin, R. Dansie, E. Maetzig, F. Spurdie (s); W. Egarr, H. Curtis, E. Olson, F. Longbottorn (s); E. Henderson, T. Lindsay, W. Smith, E. Lovell (s); W. Somerton, O, Spurdie, J. Mulholland, J. Wilson (s).

Considerable interest is being taken in the cricket match set down for to-morrow, when the two Inglewood teams, Rivals and Star, will meet. Play commences at 1.30. Following are the teams:— Rivals.—D. Allen, V. Devereux, T. Nicholls, J. Parfitt, P. Peacock, R. Spurdie, B. Evetts, K. Pederson, J. Yeates, J. Trigger, F. Duncan, J. Evans.
