Additions and improvements had subsequently been made to the building until the, hall was now one of the best country halls in the district.

AUROA RESIDENT RETURNS. . Mrs. Deegan has returned to Auroa from an interesting trip to England, Ireland and Wales, travelling practically all over those countries. She travelled Home via Panama and returned through the Red Sea route, the latter trip proving most interesting with its many ports of call. Mrs. Deegan was entertained at Riverlea at a large dinner party held in her honour at the residence of Mr. Jim Malone. It was a unique event, for relatives from far and near gathered together in a happy family reunion to welcome home their popular guest and relative. Among those assembled were Mrs. A. Malone; sen., aunt of Mrs. Deegan, and one of the most highly respected pioneers of Taranaki who, unfortunately, has been bedridden for a number of years. Her wonderful vitality and spirit enabled her to enter into the enthusiasm of the function. Mr. J. Malone presided at the dinner and toasts to the guest were honoured with music. . ’• -;L ’•
