WEDDING

WRIGHT—’MCKENNA. St. Patrick’s Church, Patea, was \the scene of a very -pretty wedding on the morning of September 25, when Nora, second daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. E. McKenna, of Patea, was married to John, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Wright# of Balclutha. The Rev. Father Moore officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her brother, Mr. John McKenna, looked charming in her ankle length gown of rich ivory satin, with tight-fit-ting bodice, long sleeves, and a two-tier over-skirt of ivory silk lace and finished at the waist with large satin bow and diamante buckle. Her beautiful handembroidered tulle veil was fastened with a coronet of pearls and orange blossoms, and fell in long, graceful folds to form the train. She wore silver shoes and stockings and carried a pretty shower bouquet of primroses, freezias and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids, Misses Kathleen and Winifred McKenna, . sisters of the bride, looked very sweet in their MidVictorian sleeveless frock of green and lemon ray de chine, respectively, the former frock falling in long handkerchief points to tho ankles and the latter frock, also ankle length, being finished at tho hem with three large frills. Both wore coronets of green and gold silk het trimmed with rosettes and flowers of a golden hue and long streamers of ribbon thrown loosely under the chin.. They wore gold shoes and stockings and carried charming posies of spring ; flowers to match their frocks. . Mr. P. McDonnell was best man and Mr. F. James groomsman. . After tho ceremony: the guests adjourned to Nansett’s tearooms, where they were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a black costume with marabout cape and a model hat of black satin and lace, and carried a posy of violets and maidenhair fern. After a wedding breakfast had been partaken of, and the usual toasts honoured, Mr. and Mrs. Wright left by ear for Wanganui, the latter wearing a fawn costume with hat and shoes en suite and a beautiful fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom.
