As a repercussion of the collapse of the Hatry group of companies, the Patent Trust and Finance Company, of which the chairman is Sir Charles Du Cros, was badly hit. It was announced that the company was interested in large blocks of Hatry shares held as security for loans, or deposited to cover, guarantees.
