COLD DELAYS EXPEDITION. (Special to Press Association.) (Copyright by Russel Owen.) Bay of Whales, Oct. 13. After a blizzard which blanketed the camp at Little America in drift all yesterday and the day before, the weather to-day shows signs of relenting. The sky is clear and the temperature is rising. It was 45 below zero last night, but 30 below at breakfast time to-day. ' Only the low temperature has been delaying the start of the dog teams southward. The severe weather wouldwear out the dogs quickly. Commander Byrd recalls that Captain Amundsen aftei’ his first start in the spring was forced to return and did not get away till October 19. This spring is even colder than the year he was here.
