HOMING PIGEONS
EGMONT CLUB RACE. A race was flown by the Egmont Homing Club from Westmere on October 5, a distance of 83 miles. Five lofts competed. The weather, was fine, with a westerly wind. The birds were kindly liberated by the stationmaster at 11.30 a.m., the winner homing at Ihr. 38min. 18sec., taking 2hr. Bmin. 18sec. to do the distance. The result of the race was as follows: — A. Raby’s No. 1608, Rio Rita; time, 2hr. Bmin. 18« sec.; velocity 1138.69yds per minute 1 J. Bellringer’s No. 1773; 2hr. Bmin. '2Bsec.'; 1137.10yds 2 M. Andrew’s No. 1797; 2hr.
