NEW PLYMOUTH-ONEHUNGA FERRY The Ngapuhi is due from Onehunga early this morning with passengers and general cargo. She sails at 7 p.m. to-day for Onehunga, and is due back on Friday morning. COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Totara was to load at Lyttelton yesterday for Wellington and New Plymouth, where she is expected to-morrow. (U.S.S. Co.). The Corinna, after discharging southern cargo at New Plymouth, sailed for Wellington and Dunedin yesterday. She is - to load at Dunedin on Thursday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Nel-
son and New Plymouth where she is due on October 22 to take 10,000 boxes of butter and 600 crates of cheese for transhipment to the Tamaroa. (N.S.S. Co.). The Opihi is due at New Plymouth from Greymouth to-day to discharge 1020 tons of coal and 200 poles and is to sail later for Wellington. (U.S.S. Co.). The Progress is to load at Dunedin on Saturday for Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington for New Plymouth, where she is due on October 25. (Holm and Co.). The John is due at New Plymouth from Lyttelton and Wellington to-mor-row, and is to return the same day for Lyttelton. (Holm and Co.). OAKBANK SAILS TO OCEAN ISLAND The Oakbank completed discharge of 1000 tons of Mexican phosphates at New Plymouth yesterday afternoon and sailed for Ocean Island to load phosphates. PORT MELBOURNE FOR AUCKLAND The Port Melbourne was expected to complete loading 11,500 boxes of butter, 10,000 crates of cheese and 14,000 freight carcases of meat at New Plymouth last night and sail for Auckland to continue. She will also load at Gisborne, Napier and Wellington, which she is to leave about October 20 for London. UNION COMPANY’S NEW VESSELS. Captain W. W. Hender is to proceed to England by the Rotorua to bring to New Zealand the Union Company’s new cargo steamer Karepo, which is one of the two new steamers that have been constructed for the company. The other vessel is named the Kaimiro and will be the first of the two to reach New Zealand. They are vessels of 3500 tons with a speed of 10J to 11 knots and are designed for use in the West Coast coal trade, as well as other cargo services. RARANGA TO LOAD FOR LONDON. The Raranga is due at New Plymouth from Wellington on Thursday to load for Halifax, Montreal and London by lifting 10,000 boxes of butter, 8000 crates of cheese and 12,000 freight carcases of meat. She is to complete loading at Auckland and sail from there about October 29. NORTH PACIFIC WITH PHOSPHATE The North Pacific, which left Casablanca, Morocco, on September 11 with 6500 tons of phosphates for discharge at Auckland, New Plymouth and Wanganui, has 500 tons to put out at this port.
