“MAKING THINGS GO”

CITIZENSHIP IN TARANAKI. Speaking in reply to a welcome extended to him in New Plymouth on Saturday night, the Hon. 'P. A. de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs, said it was good to see the spirit of the Taranaki people in pushing on the development- of their district. “There seems to be up here,” remarked Mr. de la Perrelle, “a spirit that things must go, and I should say there in much more in the feeling than is being realised down south. I can see that there is a band of enthusiastic citizens in New Plymouth whose idea is to make things no. • That is the spirit. ’Quite apart from the wealth of the land and its attractions, the Taranaki district must go ahead, and it is interesting to me to° see the good work that publicspirited citizens are doing. There is nothing like civic pride.” ’
