ACTIVITIES IN NEW PLYMOUTH. The monthly meeting of the New Plymouth Jersey Cattle Club was held yesterday, Air. H. C. Sampson presiding. There were also present Messrs. G. H. Bell, E. Griffiths, A. J. Luxton and J. S. Jones. i;..’ A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Air. H. Ballinger in their bereavement. The secretary was instructed to write Air. J. Hale expressing sympathy with him in his illness and expressing hopes for his speedy recovery. The council of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders’ Association wrote that in addition to its ordinary show subsidy of £l5 it had been decided to make a donation of £lO to the club for a class at its show for a bull and three of his daughters in milk. The bull to be paraded for exhibition only. There are to be three entries or no competition and the offer is made conditionally on the club providing a further £2 10s towards
the prize money. The suggested class will be included in the schedule of the next show, subject to the confirmation of the A. and P. .Society and the prize money will be first £B, second £5, third £2. Mr. Bell explained, that the council had decided to extend.the time of closing entries for the scheme until the end of
