Y.W.C.A. CLUB NOTES. • The Y.W.C.A. Girl Citizens held a community gathering on Monday. The groups were well represented. A good number from the Mothers’ Club were present. After the new citizens , had been enrolled, Phyllis Bennett and Norma Beal were welcomed as counsellors and received . the special badge which is the'symbol of their office. Miss Bridgman, National Chief Counsellor, presided at the ceremony and spoke to the girls on the value of group consciousness, using Kipling's “The Ship that Found Herself” as an illustration. A uniform parade resulted in a win for the Rangitiri section. The Nauinai group held an interesting debate on Wednesday on the motion “That talkies are an improvement on silent picture.” The principal speakers were the Misses M. Kurth, D. Johnson, I). Taverndale and J. Mullins. The motion was lost by two votes.
