ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION

NORWEGIANS DENY SECRECY. . FOREIGN COMMENTS RESENTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Oslo, Oct. 10. Dealing with the comments in foreign newspapers regarding the objects of the Norwegian Antarctic expedition, the local papers assert that secrecy does not exist. There is no competition, as the need for it does not exist. The whaler Norwegia has been conducting scientific explorations for two years, the results of which will be published shortly. The work is to continue, including the study of whales. There is no intention of searching for new land, but if any uncharted or unclaimed land is found the Norwegian flag will naturally be hoisted.
