EVERYBODY’S THEATRE. “IN OLD ARIZONA” FINALLY. “In Old Arizona” the Fox. Movietone all-talking drama will be finally screened -at Everybody’s Theatre to-night. Warner Baxter, Edmund Lowe and Dorothy Burgess are the stars in a brilliant cast. The story concerns the love of two men (one a bandit, the other , a trooper trying to capture him) for a wanton wdmari. “In Old Arizona” is, supported by entertaining movietone featurettes. COMMENCING TO-MORROW. A complete new change of programme will be presented to-morrow headed by the part-dialogue comedy drama “Modern Love.” Heading ’.the cast are Charlie Crase (the comedian who has proved so popular in Hal Roach comedies of late), Jean Ilersholt arid Kathryn Crawford. The story written by Beatrice Van, ,is based on a fifty-fifty marriage agreement entered into by. two people who haven’t enough money to marry on without both retaining their positions. The fact that-this scheme is being tried out by many couples will undoubtedly make the picture one of great interest. In the picture Chase sings “You . Can’t Buy Love,” the theme song, and also a' num-’ ber of popular hits. His voice is baritone and blends unusually well with Kathryn Crowford, who also sings. The supporting movietone features are. brilliant and include Fox Movietone News (events of the world.in sight and sound), “Victoria Girls” (a British De Forest singing and dancing number), “The Barrister”' (an all-talking British De Forest comedy starring George Robey) and “The British Fleet ( at Sea” (a sound synchronised production). Intend? ing patrons should book their seats early. : • -? ■ THE PEOPLES. .. EXCEPTIONAL ENTERTAINMENT. “The Girl Overboard” and “The Voice of the City,” two big features which were screened for the first time at The People’s Theatre last night were well liked by the audience present and .will be screened again to-night and to-mor-row night. “The Girl Overboard” features Mary- Philbin, Otis Harlan, Fred Mackaye and many others, and tells the story of a boy who takes the blame for his father’s crime while the father lives on as a respected member of the community. But the boy, even ’with proof of his .father’s guilt remains branded but later gains his parole after a series of startling adventures. “The Voice of the City,” starring Willard Mack and a big cast, is grimly realistic, is a fast-moving melodrama of a boy’s break from .Sing Sing, the search for him by a ruthless detective, the boy’s breathless romance and his' eventual clearance of the charge which jailed him. It all takes place within the space of twenty-four hours and because of this contraction it moves with express-train speed. A Laurel-Hardy comedy riot opens the programme. '
