Honour’s r»alloping companion, Jaleux, gave a sterling performance in the Trial Stakes, but was in-a bad position entering the straight. Jaleux got clear,however, and put in a brilliant finish; but mksed first honours by half a length. New Zealander's Derby hope Honour enjoyed a splendid run throughout and was always prominent, but was unable to make an impression on the winner, Phar Lap, in the run home. Limerick’s absence from the Spring Stakes robbed the race of much interest, -‘leaving Winalot a certain victory. The’New Zealander Arikinui was well fancied in the.
