"SALVATION ARMY MAY BENEFIT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Oct. 4. Although it has been stated that the Salvation Army is a large beneficiary under the win of the late John Brown Westlake, one of the victims of the Himatangi fire, the Army authorities, it was learned to-day, have received no official intimation of any such bequest. It is understood, however, that the Army will benfit under the will, but to what extent is unknown. The gross value of the estate is .said to be in the neighbourhood of £40,000, and after provision has been made for members of the family the residue, it is understod, has been left' to the Army for the establishment, improvement or maintenance of a home or homes for orphans in New Zealand.
