"2, 11.20 p.m. • ■ London, Oct. 2, The Dominion Office is hopeful of most important results from the Imperial- "constitutional conference to be held on October 8 to consider matters referred thereto by the 1920 Imperial Conference, including the operation of the Colonial Laws Validity Act preceding the institution of self-government in Canada and Australia but since found inadequate to meet modern, conditions, notably the relation of modern shipping, which is now the subject of conflicting laws and regulations within the Empire. It is hoped these will be assimilated. It is expected.'Lord Passfield will p 1 "©" side. Other delegates for Britain will be Sir Willihih dowett and Mr. W. Gra,ham, president' of the Board of Trade; for Canada Mr. .■Lapointe; for Australia Messrs. Harrison and Moore; for New Zealand’Sir James Parr; for South Africa, Dr. and Mr. F. W. Beyere; and .for .the Irish Free State Messrs, McGilligan and Costigan. The conference will sit in camera but communiques will be issued periodically.
