MAN'S FAILURE TO BANK MONEY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Oct. 2. In the Police Court to-day, William Arthur' Scott was charged with the theft of different sums of money, totalling £4l, the property of Margaret O’Connor, at Auckland. The police stated that last year accused was associated with a dancing school in Auckland run by two sisters. He was given money to deposit in the bank on their behalf, but spent it instead. He had made restitution of £ll. Counsel said accused had had an unfortunate “spin” since arriving in New Zealand two years ago and he wished to return to England. He was in a position to pay the balance on the money in a week. He was remanded till Saturday for the probation officer’s report.
