A sensational robbery was committed by two men at the premises of the Arctic Fur Company, Upper Queen Street, to-night, furs valued at about £lO3 being stolen. The men gained entry by smashing a glass door. A young girl who was standing on the footpath’ nearby ran into her house and told her mother, who telephoned for the police. Returning to the road the girl saw the men emerge from the-shop and run down the street carrying - twd heavy packages. Four, detectives and a constable arrived and' a thorough search of the neighbourhood was started at once. The search had extended to Waverley Street, which runs behind the shop, when two men were seen to leave a house.’They were stopped and questioned. They were preparing to enter a taxi and in their possession the detectives allege that found a sugar-sack stuffed full of furs and a largo valise which had been left in the shop by the manager. As a result the men were arrested and taken to the central police station, where the furs, which were piled high on a table, were identified by- the manager of the company.
