BRISK EXCHANGES IN HOUSE

PREMIER CALLED TO ORDER. The Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, was called to order several times during the course of his vigorous reply to the second reading debate on the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill in the House of Representatives on Friday evening. Sir Joseph was referring to large surpluses which, he stated, he had Jett when he went out of office as finance Minister, an announcement which drew groans from Reform members.
