Received Sept. 29, 9.35 p.m. London, Sept. 29. he Daily Chronicle’s Cairo correspondent states the crisis in connection with the Anglo-Egyptian treaty will end on Tuesday. Even the Wafd Party feels the crisis cannot be allowed to continue. King Faud had hours of conversation with Mustapha, the Wafd’s president, following lunch at Sir Percy Lorraine’s house. Other British officials were in communication with the Prime Minister, suggesting that the cleavage between the Wafd and the Cabinet is decreasing. The Wafd wishes free elections for the new Parliament on the basis of universal suffrage, with a neutral Cabinet in office during elections for the purpose. Members of the Cabinet, however, declare they have m desire to hang on to office if there is any certitude of the British treaty. being, ratified. It is widely recognised that the important thing is to get the treaty accepted, so that commonsense and goodwill are likely to prevail.
