FRANKLEIGH PARK
INTERESTS OF RATEPAYERS. ACHIEVEMENTS OF PAST YEAR. The psst year's achievements of the Frankleigh Park Progressive Association were reviewed as follows in the report of the association, which was presented at the annual meeting: —The County Council metalled a portion of Doralto Road, the New Plymouth Borough Council having metalled its share also. We have now a metalled road to the Huatoki Domain gate and this should prove valuable for sumnjer traffic. Now -that the other portion of Doralto Road leading to Vogcltown has bc.en regraded and widened, efforts should be made in the near future to have that part metalled also. This would probably lead to a more efficient bus service to the FrankIcy district. The electric light department has fixed two extra street lights on the metalled portion of Doralto Road. This has been greatly appreciated as has been the removal of the bus shelter light to a more suitable position. A working bee was held on the Bendall Walk, which is a beauty spot well worth preservation. Through the death of Mr. J. Hamilton, the association has lost an enthusiastic member. He attended all meetings regularly and had the interest of the district at heart. Mr. Fenwick, -who was also an enthusiastic member of the association, has moved from the district. Meetings have been held regularly throughout the year. The association would like to place on record its appreciation of the manner in which the borough and county councils have met its requests. The balance-sheet was also presented and this, with the amnual report, was adopted without discussion. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: —President, Mr. J; N. Spindler; vice-president, Mr. H. R. Boswell; honorary secretary, Mr. W. A. Sedgwick; publicity officer, Mr. N. Allen.
