PUBLIC NOTICES. BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH. RESULT OF POLL TO' RAISE £172,000 I SPECIAL LOAN. | ' I PURSUANT to Section 13 of “The Local ! Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” I hereby give Notice that a Poll of the Ratepayers of the Borough of New Plymouth was taken on the 25th day of September, 1920, upon a proposal to raise a Special Loan of one hundred and seventy-two thousand pounds (£172,000) for the following purposes :— j (a) The particular purposes for which ' the Loan is required are:— £162,800 to provide a system of Drainage for the Borough of New Plymouth, including in such purpose the purchasing, taking or otherwise "acquiring or providing land, buildings, easements, plant, materials and other things for the good and efficient drainage of the Borough, and for the exercise of the powers conferred for this purpose by Part XXII. of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920," or any statutory modification or re-enactment thereof for the time being in force; the extension of existing . drains or sewers; the payment of compensation to persons injuriously affected by the carrying, out of’the said purpose; or any matter or thing incidental or in relation to such purpose. £9,2G0 for the purpose of providing * funds out of which advances may be made to the owner or owners of any premises within the Borough of New Plymouth for the purpose of repaying the whole or any part of the expenditure ’incurred by the New Plymouth Borough Council for or in respect of any work, materials or things executed, provided or done by the said Council on or to the premises of any such owner or owners in pursuance of the provisions of Part XXII. (Drainage and j Sanitation) of “The Municipal Cor- ! porations Act, 1920,” or any statutory modification or re-enactment thereof for the time being in force or in pursuance of any By-lay of the Borough of New Plymouth relating to drainage or sanitation and including the provision of all fittings necessary to enable the proper disposal of waste waters and sewage matter. (b) The sum to be borrowed for all such purposes is £172,600 at a rate of interest not exceeding Five pounds ten shillings (£5 10/-) per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of Two pounds per centum per annum additional. (c) The proposed security for the said Loan of £172,000 and the interest and sinking fund thereon, is an annually recurring special rate of Twopence halfpenny in the pound on the rateable value (on the 'basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the said Borough of New Plymouth), and it is proposed to repay the said Loan on the First day of April, 1953. (d) It is proposed to pay out of the said loan the cost of raising the said loan, but not the interest and sinking fund thereon for the first year.
