NOMINATION AS ARBITRATOR

REMOVAL ORDERED BY COURT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Sept. 19. Mr, Justice McGregor gave reserved judgment in a case heard in the Supreme Court, in which the Napier City Council appeared in support of a summons for the removal of J. J. Lancaster/ electrical engineer, the Wellington and Hawke’s Bay Power Board’s nominee as arbitrator in a question referred to arbitration in respect of the bulk supply agreement between the board and the council. His Honour held that since Lancaster had been in the employ of the Hawke's Bay Power Board he could not be expected to approach the matter without a slight though unintentional bias in favour of his former employers. Accordingly he ordered his removal.
