CLELAND—BUCKLE.
The wedding was solemnised on Thursday, August 15, in St. Alary’s Church, New Plymouth, of Lilian, third daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. H. Buckle, New Plymouth, and Ronald, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Cleland, Fitzroy, New Plymouth. Canon E. H. Strong officiated and Mr. R. J„ Renaud presided at the organ.
The bride, who entered the church with her fathei, wore a dainty frock of shell’pink'crepe de chine satin, with close-fitting bodice and full skirt of narrow-frilled flaires. Her long pink tulle veil, which was carried by a little flower-girl, was held in place with circlets of orange blossom and silver rosebuds. The bride carried a shower bouquet of freesias. pink stock and maidenhair fern.
The chief bridesmaid, Miss Hazel Buckle, sister,of the bride, wore a frock of primrose taffet;\ with close-fitting bodice and circular skirt, trimmed with sprays of taffeta flowers. Miss Eileen Cleland, sister of the bridegroom, wore a powder blue georgette frock, with close fitting bodice and a double-flaired skirt, finished .with a large taffeta bow. Both wore head-dresses of tulle held in place with silver leaves, and carried bouquets to tone with their frocks. Utile Leonie Novak, niece of the bride, as flower-girl, wore a pretty powder blue georgette frock, with headdress of forget-me-nots, and carried a basket of primulas and forget-me-nots. Mr. Frank Cleland carried out the duties of best man and Mr. William Cleland was groomsman.
After the reception, which was held at the Mon Desir, Mr. and Mrs. Cleland left by ear for the south.
