BALL AT MOUNTAIN HOUSE

TO ASSIST HOSPITAL RADIO FUND

Advantage is being taken of the school holidays, which end this week, to give a party for children at tho North Egmont hostel With a view to assisting in the raising of funds towards the equipment of the New Plymouth public hospital with radio apparatus. The hostel will be thrown open to-morrow by Mr. and Mrs. J. Lorimer, the lessees, to the children, who are expected in full force to expend the last of that holiday spirit they are always brimming over with. The party will be opened by 'Mrs. T. Avery at 2 o’clock, and outdoor attractions, which are never lacking on the mountain at this season of the year, will occupy the youngsters for an hour or two. There will be a treasure hunt, a kite-flying competition, guessing competitions and lucky dips ,to while away the short time before the real fun begins. From four o’clock onwards a fancy dress dance for the children will be held in the lounge, the revels being broken only by tea. The arrangements for the afternoon and evening are all well in train and it is hoped that as many as possible will bo present to help swell the funds towards a worthy object.
