LEAGUE OF NATIONS MEETS

BRITISH PREMIER A DELEGATE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 1, 5.5 p.m. Paris, Aug. 31. Discussing topics for consideration by the League of Nations at the forthcoming meeting at Geneva, the British Prime Minister (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald) stated that thf Government had taken the greatest pains to get all the Dominions’ signatures to the optional clause. “I hope,” he added, “when the Imperial delegation meets at Geneva, I shall find the position clear.” Mr. MacDonald refused to discuss his conversations with the U.S.A. Ambassador (General Dawes) regarding naval matters beyond remarking that if A chicken was unduly hatched he would be the most surprised man living.
