FARMERS’ DISSATISFACTION
CRITICISM OF MR. W J POLSON, M.B
By Telegraph.—Press Association,
Timaru, Last Night. A strong protest was made by some members of the Timaru St. Andrew’s branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at the monthly meeting against the attitude of the Dominion president, Mr. W. J. Polson, M.P, in regard to the Budget proposals.
One member said Mr. Polson should not hold the position he did to-day.
The chairman said Mr. Polson had given the assurance he did not make the statement which caused the trouble. It appeared that the whole of the South Island was after him.
Mr. P. Porter: It is time they were. They should have been long ago. There is a great deni of dissatisfaction among members of the Farmers’ Union and it his been caused by Mr. Polson. So long as he remains at the head of the Farmers’ Union the matter will not be cleared up. Mr. A Ward said they were hardly tolerant enough with their president. The meeting did not pass any motion.
