IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, TARANAKI DISTRICT. IN THE MATTER of “The Companies Act, 1908,” And IN THE MATTER of the Taranaki Investment and Deposit Corporation, Ltd. IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Petition has been presented to this Honourable Court by the above-named Company to confirm certain alterations of the said Company’s objects contained in the Memorandum of Association of the Company, and proposed to be effected by a special resolution of the Company passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the said Company held on the 7th day of May, 1929, and subsequently confirmed at an extraordinary geeneral meeting of the said Company held on the 4th day of June, 1929, which resolution runs as follows: — That the objects of.sie Company be extended :— (1) By the addition to Clause 111. of the Company’s Memeorandum of Association of the following two Sub-clauses adding to the main objects of the Company:— (t) To purchase, acquire and hold, sell or otherwise deal with any stocks, bonds, debentures, shares, scrip or securities of any bank, fire or life insurance company, loan company; investment company, or trustee company established in and carrying on business in the Dominion of New Zealand. (u) To make loans on the security of instruments by way of security over livestock, wool, pastoral and agricultural produce, or chattels in the Dominion of New Zealand. (2) And by the addition to Clause 111. of the Company’s Memorandum of Association of the following, subclause to enable the Company to attain its main purposes and as ancillary thereto:— (v) To take, make, execute, or enter into, commence, carry on, prosecute and defend all steps contracts, agreements, negotiations, legal and other proceedings, compromises, arrangements and schemes, and to do all other acts, matters, and things which shall at any time appear conducive or expedient for the protection of the Company as holders of or interested in any such investments and securities as aforesaid. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the said Petition is directed to be heard before The Honourable the Chief Justice, at the Supreme Court House, Wellington, on FRIDAY, the 13th day of September, 1929, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, or so soon thereafter as Counsel can be heard. AND THAT any person interested in the said Company, whether as shareholder, debenture-holder, creditor or otherwise desiring to oppose the making of an Order for the confirmation of the said alterations, should appear at the time of hearing bj r himself or his Counsel for the purpose. A copy of the said Petition may be obtained from, and will be furnished by, Mr. William Power, Secretary to the Company, Broadway Buildings, Broadwa., Stratford, upon payment of a fee of 1/-.
