NEXT SESSION IN TARANAKI OPENING ON TUESDAY MORNING. PROBABLE HEAVY CRIMINAL LIST. Tho quarterly session of the Supreme Court in the judicial district of Taranaki opens at New Plymouth next Tuesday before the Chief Justice (the Hon. M. Myers). Though the criminal list is not a very long one at present, It is possible that several additions may be made to it before the session opens. Included amongst the cases already set down-for hearing are charges arising out of the death of John Poletti at Bell Block, and the re-trial of a prisoner on a charge of indecent assault. Two prisoners are to appear for sentence. Divorce petitions are less tljan usual, only three being listed. There are six actions in the civil list for trial before the judge alone, and a number of family protection matters and miscellaneous motions. Three appeals are scheduled, and there are a number of applications under the Bankruptcy Act. The -calendar is as follows: — CRIMINAL. For Trial. Ludwig, John Stanford; alleged Indecent assault.
