GIRLS’ FRIENDLY SOCIETY

THE MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the New Plymouth Girls’ Friendly Society was held on Tuesday. Present: Mrs. Stephens (in the chair), Mesdames Newman, Sanders, Bennett, Dinniss, Misses Wilson, Godfrey, Norman, the matron, treasurer and secretary. Apologies were received from Mrs. Home, Miss Hempton and Miss Curtis. Accounts to the amount of £44 Is lOd were passed for payment. The matron reported all well in the house, all permanent beds being filled and various casuals visiting during the month.

Mrs. Mackay was granted her annual leave whenever Miss Firmstone could relieve her.

A social evening was discussed, and Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Dinniss and Miss Godfrey were appointed a committee to work with Mrs. Mackay.
