DIED ON WAY TO HOSPITAL.

Dargaville, Aug. 14. Cyril E. Salmon, a single man, of Donnelly’s Crossing, had breakfast yesterday with his brother, a recent arrival from Australia. He went to work in a shed nearby and later returned to tell his brother that he had taken spirits of salt (hydrochloric acid) by. mistake. He was placed in a car and rushed to the Te Kopuru hospital, 35 miles away, but expired on the way. An inquest will be held to-day.
