HALF OF WAGES CONFISCATED. By Telegraph—-Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Aug. 6, 7 p.m. Times. London, Aug. 6. Following upon the decision to compel workmen and officials to subscribe six months’ wages to the new industrialisation loan the Soviet Government has instructed factories to deduct the first instalment from the August wages and two further instalments in September. The instructions have been issued in consequence of the State Planning Commission’s unfavourable report on the financial situation.
