IN THE MATTER of the “Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” the “Local Government Loans Board’s Act 1926,” the Electric Power Board Act, 1925,” and the “Local Legislation Act 1926” Section 45 and amendments. is hereby given that the South Taranaki Electric Power Board proposes to raise a special loan of £187,500 in such instalments as may from time to time be required. THE PURPOSE for which the Loan is required is for the supply and distribution of electric energy for the benefit of the South Taranaki Electric-power District and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things as the board is empowered to do by the “Elec trie-Power Boards Act 1925” and its Amendments and by the “Local Legislation Act 1926” Section 45, AND IN PARTICULAR but without limiting in any way any of the aforesaid powers, to purchase the assets and undertaking of the Hawera County Electric Company Limited, and to provide, erect and construct a system of electric distribution and reticulation in such parts of the South Taranaki Electric-power District as are not at present reticulated and to improve, add to and extend the present system of electric distribution and reticulation and to make provision for financial assist-, ance to consumers and for trading purposes as provided by the said Acts. THE PROPOSED SECURITY for such Loan and for the payment of interest, sinking fund and other charges in connection therewith and for the repayment of the Loan at maturity is an annually recurring Special Rate of Five hundred and eighty-eight One thousandths (588/1000ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the improved value) of all rateable property in the South Taranaki Electric-power District. It is proposed to make such Loan repayable in twenty-six years and also to make provision for a sinking fund of £2 per centum per annum. The authorised rate of interest is 5} per cent. It is intended to pay out of the Loan the preliminary expenses incurred by the South Taranaki Electric-Power Board and the cost of raising the Loan.
