PROSPEROUS RAILWAY PORT DETAILS OF THE CARGO HANDLED. AN INTERESTING COMPARISON. The remarkable growth of New Plymouth as a railway port was referred to by several speak at the valedictory social to Mr. 11. F. Mirams, stationmaster, at New Plymouth on Saturday night. Thomson: And yet it was not so many years ago when the late Mr. Newton King imported a consignment of 50 tons of slag. They said he was mad and that it would be on his hands for years and years. This year 30.000 tons of slag were imported.
