ATTACKS ON BANKS TRADING

'MIL PEMBER REEVES’ DEFENCE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, July 10. At tho meeting of the National Bank of New Zealand, Air. Pember Reeves, chairman, said ho regretted to notice attacks on tho banks’ trading in the Dominion. He had no authority to speak for tho other banks, but it had been tho settled policy of the National Bank to Jielp tho primary producers in New Zealand in every legitimate way. Tho National Bank had a large’ connection with the primary producers, and very many solid and valued members of that section of the people were among tho bank’s clients. It was altogether incorrect to suggest that the dividends mainly came from the profits made out of business with, the farmers and farmres’ companies.
