PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ UNION.

EASTERN DISTRICTS’ FIXTURES.

A meeting of teachers convened by Mr. Biehcno in the Urenui School on Saturday, decided to arrange for seven-a-side football competitions and for girls’ basketball competitions among the schools within reasonable distance of Urenui as a centre.

It was decided that for the purposes of the competition Urenui and Tikorangi each provide full teams for both football and basketball, and that the following schools combine to form teams:—Okoke and Mimi, Motunui and Waiau, Uruti and Muskers. The draw is:—June 22; Motunui and Waiau Combined play Tikorangi, at Tikorangi, at football and basketball; Uruti and Muskers play Urenui, at Urenui (in Loth games); Okoke and Mimi Combined a bye. •Second Round, June 29.—Motunui and Waiau Combined play Okoke and Mimi Combined, at Urenui (or at either Okoke or Mimi if provision is made meanwhile for a basketball ground); Tikorangi plays Uruti and Muskers Combined at Uruti; Urenui a bye. The winning teams are to play off at dates and on grounds to 'be arranged later. Winners of the respective competitions will be determined by the rules governing Taranaki primary school football and basketball competitions.

At the conclusion of the competition, a team for each game will be selected from all the competing teams to play one or more outside matches, so that any outstanding players may bo eligible for representative honours.
