UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF

THE POSITION IN MASTERTON.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night.

There was an attendance of 36 at a meeting of the unemployed on Saturday. The Mayor, Mr. T. Jordan, was present by invitation, and said the borough would do what it could. A list of 30 men wanting, work was compiled in the room, and it was stated that this would be added to. Nineteen of the applicants were married and there were 48 dependents. A committee was set up and a further greeting is to bo held to consider the formation of a citizens’ unemployment committee.
