WELLINGTON THIEVES FINED

OLD OFFENDER SENT TO GAOL. By Telcgranli.—Press Association. Wellington. June 1. William Lyndhurst, aged 52, and John Martin, aged 28, employed by the Public Works Department at Akatarawa, appeared- in court to-day for the theft of clothing in S. F. Brailsford’s shop. Martin was fined £5, while Lyndhurst, an old offender, was sentenced to three months’ hard labour. John Ferns, a fireman aged 30, and a shipmate, Owen McGlone, aged 49, were each fined £3 for thefts from motorcars.
