Major F; W. Sandford, assistant district Scout Commissioner, was given a farewell by the Scout troops of New Plymouth in St. Mary’s Hall last night. Various speakers referred to the long and tireless service Major Sandford had given the movement, and recalled the able manner in which he had represented New Zealand at the Wembley jamboree. A presentation was accompanied by good wishes to Major Sandford for his forthcoming trip to the Imperial jamboree to be held in England. There was a musical programme and exhibitions of Scout work were given during the evening.
