IMPROVEMENTS AT WAIWAKAIHO
EXPERT ADVICE .TO BE 'OBTAINED
-.With a. view to improvements to the New Plymouth ..Qolf. Club's course, at VYaiwakaiho, Mr. C. H. Redhead, Rotorua, a well-known golf course architect, is to be engaged to inspect the course a'nd present a complete and comprehensive report, together with recommendations for. improvements and alterations. The decision has been, made by. the committee as the result of a • recommendation of a sub-committee set up to. consider t-he : matter. " The question of the • future policy; of the blub ’regarding course improvements has been considered by successive eommittes for some years- and from time to time alterations have been made. It has been' felt, however, that any work, done should conform, to a definite general scheme, and after giving the matter a .great deal of attention the committee decided that the best method was to -obtain the advfee of an. expert. . It is expected that if this is done considerable economics will be effected in the carrying out of future improvements.
Mr. Redhead has had considerable experience of golf course architecture and, besides having designed and carried out the improvements to the Rotorua links, he has lately advised on verv important alterations to the courses at Palmerston .-.-North and Middlenwre (Auckland),' Mr. : Redhead will arrive at New Plymouth. early next month.
